God has many names. His names are attached to his acts. His name is attached to his attributes, thus his character. His name sometimes depends on your encounter with him. This God is a mysterious God. He will only show you what you want to know about him.
Isaiah 40:28 says, “Have you not known? have you not heard, [that] the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? [there is] no searching of his understanding.”
When God moves in a mysterious way in your life, your enemies get confused. This is because their weapons will just fail all of a sudden. Their calculations will just scatter. What they are expecting for you will not come to pass. Therefore when God wants to do mysterious things, he will show himself as the God of creation sometimes and as the God that can do and undo. When God wants to change the story of his children, he will alter records.
There is something called natural laws. The natural laws govern the earth. This law determines the seasons- the dry season, rainy season… This law does not need the help of man and has been set from the foundation of the world.
When God wants to do his miracles he can suspend these laws to show that he can do all things. That is why the sun will be shining and the rain will be falling. Rain falls when clouds are formed but God can change the laws that while the sun is still up, the rains will fall.
That is why the bush was burning but the leaves were not consumed or withered- in Exodus 3. Moses had to run back to look at it carefully and when he got closer his story changed. When God wants to perform his wonders, he suspended the natural law that says a woman must know a man before she can conceive. He made Virgin Mary conceive.
It is the same God we serve today. God has not changed but it is his children that have not taken time to know him. When God wants to perform his wonders, he consults no man.
“And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day, And he lifts up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw [them], he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground”.
To be at the gate means to watch. Are you watching? Do you know the season you are in now? Abraham was watching and he knew the men that were coming were his visitors. He did not wait for them to meet them in his tent. Rather, he ran to meet them and bowed himself toward the ground.
These men came with the message of assurance. Abraham was at the gate watching in expectation so when he saw the strangers he gladly welcomed them. There are angels of God that come as humans among us every day.
Genesis 18:3-4 says “And said, My Lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree”.
There are people whose life attracts bad people. But the life of Abraham attracted the angels of God.
Genesis 18:5-8 continues that “And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead [it], and make cakes upon the hearth. And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetch a calf tender and good, and gave [it] unto a young man, and he hasted to dress it. And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set [it] before them, and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.”
There is something we can learn from this noble family. They were in one accord.
When Abraham asked Sarah to prepare food for his visitors she did not argue. She just made the food though she knew nothing about the coming of those men.
Abraham himself is a giver and he gives without expecting anything in return. If you have a character that chases people away, you will chase your blessings away. There are many people we have come across in our lives but because we don’t know they are angels we chased them away. One habit that chases people away is pride.
Abraham has the spirit of discernment, giving and hospitality. He cares for the welfare of others.
When you don’t give what you have, you cannot get what you don’t have and no man can have everything. God said three things to Abraham,
“I will bless you.”
“I will make your name great”.
“I will make you a blessing”. (Genesis 12)
When your life, your word, and appearance is not blessing others, you are not yet a blessed person. A man or woman that holds on to what he or she has cannot be enlarged.
The more you make others happy, the happier you will be. If you cannot make others comfortable, God will not make you comfortable. A blind man is a person that has two eyes but cannot see his opportunities. That is why we have something called the eye of Grace that helps to see opportunities.
Genesis 18:9-14 says, “And they said unto him, Where [is] Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard [it] in the tent door, which [was] behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah [were] old [and] well stricken in age; [and] it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
When the angels said Sarah shall have a son, she laughed. Sarah laughed because;
1. She knew that there are natural laws that a woman he cannot conceive at the cycle of menopause.
You cannot deceive people with what they know. You can only deceive people with what they don’t know. Sarah did not know that she was talking with the God that alters records.
He created the law, and a manufacturer can change the product at any time.
Job 26:10 says “He have compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.”
The laughter of Sarah was not because she did not believe but it was because of limited knowledge.
2. Medical records have confirmed that she cannot conceive again.
3. Her age and her womb are old. Her husband too was weak to have her.
4. Every circumstance around their marriage did not agree with what the man was saying.
Circumstances in the life of many people make them not to believe anything that God says.
When God wants to move in mysterious ways the circumstances around you do not matter.
When God wants to change the story of man, there is no record he cannot change.
5. She believed that these strange visitors did not know her case.
They did not ask her what she went through. In John 5 Jesus entered the pool, there were multitudes, and he went to one and asked him if he would be made whole. But the man started story. Jesus told him to take up his bed and walk. We have a divine mandate from heaven that your past cannot stop your greatness in the future. Who told you that your womb cannot hear the voice of resurrection?
This is why Jesus said when you ask anything from God believing you shall receive. Never give room for doubt.
6. Sarah has never seen or heard it in history that a woman who stopped her menstruation for years can conceive.
She did not know that what is called a miracle is what has not happened before. She did not know that God says he will do a new thing. She did not know that since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen, what God has prepared for them that wait for him. (Isaiah 64:4).
7. She believed that the heaven of her miracle has closed the very day her menstrual period closed.
She has forgotten that there is a God that renews age. The day God arrives in your life is the day your time has started. When God has not spoken, whatever anyone is saying is noise. Do you know that we are serving a God that starts his work where our enemies have stopped?
Supernatural miracles do not happen in the life of many of us because we have created doubt in our hearts.
Some have settled in their heart that nothing can change again.
It is written that God created heaven and earth out of nothing. If you have closed your heart to what God can do. Open your heart.
God will not appear in a place and situations will not change. When God appears, either situation will change or he will change the situation.
WHAT MUST YOU DO FOR YOUR RAINS OF MIRACLE TO COME
- Surrender your life to Jesus.
- Surrender your case to the Lord Jesus.
In John 15:6 Jesus says without me you can do nothing. Hand over your problem to God. When you come to Jesus, there are certain things we should do ourselves and certain things Jesus will do for us. But the problem is many of us want to do what Jesus should do for us.
- Look unto God alone for your miracles.
- Refuse to agree that your miracle is not possible.
- Seek God diligently for your expected miracle. Hebrew 11:6.
- Always make positive confession concerning your expectations.
- Prepare yourself and mind for the miracles you are expecting.
What you are expecting, confess it always, and pursue it until you receive it.
